Connecting People With Redwood County

Whether you are new to the county or have lived here your entire life, it can be difficult to find opportunities to explore the area, meet people outside your usual circles and access local leadership development.

LINC brings those opportunities together through:

  • Practical leadership and communication development
  • Connections with people from across Redwood County
  • Site visits to local businesses and organizations
  • Greater awareness of resources and opportunities in the county
  • Encouragement to become more involved in your community

2015

Members of the Redwood County Blandin Foundation Community Leadership program cohort began exploring opportunities to bring a similar program to the county, aimed to strengthen leadership, create connections and grow civic engagement.

2016

LINC Redwood County was founded in June 2016. Co-founders Amanda Monroe and Claire Meyers convened graduates of the Blandin Leadership program cohort and the University of Minnesota Extension to begin developing a countywide leadership program.

2017

A volunteer Design Team helped turn that idea into a program, modeled under the Extension Bridging Leadership Program. The first LINC program year launched in September 2017. The Design Team then transitioned into a Steering Committee.

2019

With the development of organizational bylaws, the Steering Committee formally transitioned into the LINC Redwood County Board of Directors.

Today

LINC continues to bring people together from throughout Redwood County to learn, connect, explore and find new ways to contribute to the communities around them.
