Working Effectively with People of All Types
Location: Lower Sioux Indian Community

Identifying your own preferences and behaviors when you interact with or lead others is key to being an effective leader. This workshop uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), one of the most reliable and widely used personality assessments, to help participants better understand how they process information, communicate, and make decisions. Understanding how your preferences differ from others leads to stronger communication, collaboration, and leadership in both your personal and professional life. Participants complete the MBTI assessment before the session.

You'll evaluate your current workplace culture, learn communication strategies that build trust, and begin developing an action plan to strengthen relationships with coworkers, clients, volunteers, and even family members. Rural Narrative and Community
Location: Redwood County Day – Redwood Falls

Rural communities are dying. That narrative – based on old stereotypes and myths – does not hold true today. Our rural communities are arguably better poised for the future than ever before. But rather than each community fending for themselves, we must recognize the increasing importance of regional, rural living and the relationships between our places. Understanding the context of the community helps shape the leadership journey. In this session, participants will learn about demographic, social, and economic trends that are shaping the nation, state, and Redwood County.

Courageous Followership
Location: Belview • Delhi • Seaforth

Strong organizations need both effective leaders and effective followers. Based on the work of Ira Chaleff, this session explores the different types of followers, why followership matters, and how participants can positively influence organizations and communities regardless of their formal leadership role.

Visionary Leadership
Location: County Bus Tour & Graduation Ceremony

The final session begins with a countywide coach bus tour that highlights places and opportunities many participants have never experienced. Throughout the day, participants reflect on the future of Redwood County, develop their own leadership vision, and consider the shared vision they want to help create within their organizations and communities. The program concludes with a graduation celebration attended by participants and their guests.

Every Session Includes Community Site Visits

In addition to the featured leadership workshop, each monthly session includes afternoon visits to businesses, nonprofits, farms, government organizations, and other community partners throughout Redwood County.

These experiences provide a behind-the-scenes look at the people, industries, and organizations that help the county thrive while giving participants the opportunity to build relationships across the region.
